We all were left in the dark back when Halo Infinite was showcased at E3 2019, although we did get a story trailer that depicted a new character seemingly stranded in space but that was all pretty much it. Nothing more has been revealed which at least could let the fans speculate further about this upcoming game. However, the Head of Xbox Game Studios, Matt Booty, recently spoke during the Game Informer show in an attempt to let the fans in on few tiny tidbits about Halo Infinite Universe and its gameplay.

While Booty has been very careful about what he said, not laying out anything big but according to him, the Halo Infinite Universe will be pretty huge, however, he did add that expanding the universe is something that is being worked on but he does not want the fans to think that it is some kind of a sandbox. At least not at this point because people overload that term and it alters the perception of the game altogether.

I think the first thing that is just very cool about where that game is headed is how they’re thinking about expanding the world, right? I won’t go so far as to say sandbox because you bring up sandbox and people sort of overload that term with a lot of other things. But what the team is doing to build a bigger universe and a bigger set of gameplay scenarios, and just more things to explore, is awesome.

Set bot gameplay scenarios also caught our attention and if there is more to it then definitely Halo Infinite could turn out to be some really amazing. While it is understandable that all of this is pretty limited, he did spare a few words for the expected visuals of the game.

The second thing is just as they bring the Slipspace engine up to date with where we’re at, in terms of, you know, graphics these days, there’s just some cool stuff design-wise, it’s been really cool to see them get back to some of the shape language and design language of some of the earlier Halo’s. You know, there could be said that Halo when you get into Halo five, maybe it was getting a little busy, design-wise and it’s cool to just see that.

So while we hope that we get to see and hear more about Halo Infinite but for now as per Booty’s word, Halo Infinite feels more modern and cleaner. Which I am not sure, what it exactly means but hoping that it means the game will be visually and aesthetically amazing.

But also I think there are stronger echoes back to the roots of Halo.

Here he probably tried to point out towards the historical connection of the game. So that adds more to the excitement. Having said that Halo Infinite budget is expected to exceed 500$ million and if it does, it would perhaps be the highest budgeted video game ever.

So, let us hope that the game is able to reach the expectations of the fans.
