You might have already heard it by now, if not then you should know that in a recent conference call with the investors, the CEO of Disney, Bob Iger, revealed that the company is all in for a Home Alone Remake. Yes, the 1990s Christmas classic film known for its fun and adventure feel, especially among younger generations is finally getting a remake and it seems fans are not too happy with it.

Why, should the fans be happy with it? It seems as if the entire, film industry is running out of new ideas. Like making money is the prime target, rather than giving something new and original to the audience. We all have seen the level of creativity, Dinsey has shown us over the years but now, it seems it too is trying to adopt the ongoing trend of the remakes.

This year had in the expectation line, quite a few remakes, some reboots, and some rip-offs, most of which have not been considerably appreciated by the fans. However, others also argue that commercially they have been a massive success.

For those who are not aware, in March, Disney acquired the most 21 Century Fox assets, which was a $71 billion deal. It also included several film franchises. Among which it was Home Alone that starred, the child prodigy, Macaulay Culkin, who even now has a rating of 80% on Rotten Tomatoes and 7.5 on IMDB. With that being said, not much is known about this Home Alone Remake other than what Iger had to say.

We are also focused on leveraging Fox’s vast library of great titles to further enrich the content mix on our… platforms — for example, reimagining ‘Home Alone,’ ‘Night at the Museum,’ ‘Cheaper by the Dozen’ and ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ for a new generation on Disney+.

Be that as it may, a Disney+ streaming service will also be launching in North America come November.

So what is your take over this Home Alone Remake? Let us known your thoughts in the comments below.

I have a lot of love for Movies especially science fiction however nothing beats the fun of sitting behind a screen and playing some hard core FPS games. Apart from them i am a major lover of Assassins Creed titles especially Brotherhood, The Witcher and God Of War. Huge fan of animation director Hayo Mayazaki.
