I have a lot of love for Movies especially science fiction however nothing beats the fun of sitting behind a screen and playing some hard core FPS games. Apart from them i am a major lover of Assassins Creed titles especially Brotherhood, The Witcher and God Of War. Huge fan of animation director Hayo Mayazaki.
Fans of Battle Royale know that Apex Legends did a commendable job to the genre. Adding a whole new dimension to enhance the genre the game did receive quite a lot of appreciation. The success of the game has recently had everyone wondering about the next sequel, Apex Legends 2. Unfortunate as it may seem, a little while back the executive producer at Respawn made it pretty clear that Apex Legends 2 will never happen, period.
Executive producer at Respawn Drew McCoy, in an interview, said that they developed Apex Legends in such a manner that it would always be treated as a live game. Referring that they plan on continuously add more seasons to Apex Legends. Meaning that they are never going to make an Apex 2.
Most people don’t realize how long it takes to make anything, and so a character for us takes about a year and a half to make. So we’ve been playing Wattson since early last year, but we have so much stuff in the pipe right now coming that people are always like, ‘So what are you guys gonna do for this or that?’ Like dude, we’re thinking years ahead at this point. We do believe in this game as a live game. We’re never gonna make an Apex 2; hoping next Season 72 is awesome. That’s kind of where our head is at: how are we setting this up for the long term. McCoy said.
In translation what McCoy has implied is that the present Apex Legends has plans to be updated with a plethora of seasons in the future. Considering the fact that it took them nearly a year to create the newest character Wattson, leaving it all behind is not in the books. However, updating has always been a prime target. This means that Apex Legends 2 will not happen. Which might be a little sad news for the fans because in most cases fans like to take the same title but a whole new take. Most of which normally takes place in a sequel. While updates are huge assurances for the fans, they will perhaps always want more from the devs.
Having said that, things can always change, considering the fact that Apex Legends has rolled out only this year, it would perhaps be a little too early even for the fans to think of a sequel, let alone the developers.
Would you like an Apex Legends 2 or season updates would do you justice? Let us known your thoughts in the comments below.
