I have a lot of love for Movies especially science fiction however nothing beats the fun of sitting behind a screen and playing some hard core FPS games. Apart from them i am a major lover of Assassins Creed titles especially Brotherhood, The Witcher and God Of War. Huge fan of animation director Hayo Mayazaki.
If you thought this to be an Iron Maiden game then you just added more evidence to the fact that Ion Maiden video game is creating “confusion among consumers” by using the similar name as a channel to lore IRON MAIDEN fans into playing this game. Just recently the cult classic heavy metal band filed a trademark lawsuit against Ion Maiden Video Game developer company, 3D Realms for deliberately causing confusion among fans.
The lawsuit stretches to claim that;
Defendant’s Ion Maiden name is nearly identical to the IRON MAIDEN trademark in appearance, sound, and overall commercial impression. Defendant also uses the Ion Maiden name to sell merchandise including shirts and mouse pads”
In fact, the lawsuit further adds that the name Ion Maiden has been used without authorization in an attempt to confuse the fans and customers into believing that the products and services are affiliated or approved by Iron Maiden. Which obviously they are not.
Customers who view Defendant’s video game and merchandise are likely to believe that IRON MAIDEN is somehow affiliated with Defendant. The results of searches for Ion Maiden merchandise, t-shirts, posters and mouse pads relate to IRON MAIDEN.
You can read the further details of the lawsuit here. Be that as it may, 3D Realms has also responded over at Twitter in a very firm way. Saying that they just heard that a lawsuit has been filed and that they will see to it on how will they respond to it when they receive the official notice.
We at 3D Realms, our co-publishers 1C Entertainment, and developer Voidpoint will review our options once we receive official notice of the lawsuit and will make any necessary decisions at the appropriate time.

From what we’ve heard, the suit claims our main character…

So it seems like, while 3D Realms has not yet responded with any rebuttal to the lawsuit, it seems like they already might have known of such a possibility and handling this very professionally, they have assured the video game fans. Saying that regardless of what this lawsuit aims to achieve, the company is working hard and passionately to deliver the best experience to the gamers.
What will become of this trademark lawsuit over Ion Maiden video game, remains to be seen. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below.
