After over 13 years the League of Legends developer Riot Games has changed its iconic logo, however, this new logo is not that fancy. In fact, the fans don’t seem to like it at all. You can see this new logo above while the old one has been made available below.
As soon as this new Riot Games Logo changed, the League of Legends players started to notice it and this new look does not seem to appeal the fans. Over at the official Twitter accounts the company has also changed the logo with this new one.
In a statement over at the company’s official website, Riot games added that this new logo represents the advancement in the technology compared to what the company was before when it was founded in 2006, a lot has changed and improved. Hence the old one no longer fit the purpose. The new logo they added was created in a partnership with studio co-founder Marc Merrill and Brandon Beck alongside CEO Nicolo Laurent.
Comparing the two logos below, you can notice that the new red-and-white take on the logo spells dullness somehow, while the old one as you can see is vibrant compared to the new one. The new Riot Games logo perhaps has a minimalist take on the studio’s name while the old one represented openness.
It is not us who find this new logo uninspiring, rather these are the words of fans. In a post over at the game’s official subreddit, a lot of displeasure by fans has been met. While each fans has shared his or her own take on this new logo but perhaps this one comment explains the rest of us. “TheExter”, says, I absolutely hate it, it’s terrible and I’m extremely upset about this change. It used to look better and now it’s ruined forever. I’ll forget about it next week though.”
Be that as it may, it does not mean that Riot Games would be changing it back anytime soon but you can never estimate the power of fans.
