We all have heard the floating rumors about a Disc less Xbox One to be in the works, however, we never got any official confirmation but now we have yet another rumor that sparks even more fire for those looking forward to this version of the console. According to a report by Windows Central, the rumored Disc Less Xbox One is called Xbox One S All-Digital Edition that has a release date set for May this year. Now before we take this any further we would recommend you to take this with a grain of salt, provided this is only a rumor and there is no official confirmation what so ever.

Based on the report, it is code-named Xbox Maverick internally and it is claimed that the preorders are set for mid-April, while the release date is May 7. In fact, Windows Central is a little too confident about this claim that they have gone out to say that, “it could be a near-global simultaneous launch for almost all existing Xbox markets.”

Well if this news does bear any authenticity, then without any doubt it would be an amazing step form Microsoft. However, we like to think that if that were actually the case, we might have had an official word already, since April is just around the corner and such type of news does not serve beneficial for the company if it remains hidden, then again we never know, what the company aims. Moreover, we also think that since Microsoft is currently working on the next-gen Xbox, known as Xbox Scarlett, it would be unreasonable for the company to introduce this Disc Less Xbox One this late in the game, with the release date set for coming may, it is already very late. Why do we say late? Well if we are to believe the rumors, then we also have rumors regarding the release of future Xbox, which suggests that it might roll out next year.

Which means that they are working on this latest Xbox and with all focus set, introducing this version of Xbox could prove to be a waste of time, work and finance. That said, it could also be the other way around that before they leave the Xbox One in the hall of fame, they want to take as much juice out as they can, which would make sense.

Be that as it may, it does not entirely mean that Xbox will be leaving the discs for good, it will only be a debut of its first-ever disc-less console. Perhaps they are setting a base for future Disc Less Microsoft consoles.

So what are your thoughts regarding this Disc-Less Xbox One Release Date rumor? Let us know in the comments below.
