Along with the announcement of how many copies Kingdom Come Deliverance has sold, was a piece of news that came pretty much out of nowhere. Apparently, Kingdom Come: Deliverance has sold over 2 million copies and the studio behind this game, Warhorse Studio has been acquired by THQ Nordic. This announcement was made by THQ Nordic and Koch Media.

This news was revealed in a press release, where it has been officially declared that February 13th marks the 1st anniversary of the release as well as unlocks new sales achievements for the game as well. Having said that the acquisition includes the Kingdom Come Deliverance development studio as well as all of its intellectual property rights.

CEO of Warhorse Studios, Martin Fryvaldsky said

“Becoming part of THQ Nordic family is an important milestone for our studio. We began as a small start-up with a handful of employees who were enthusiastic enough to join this challenging project. The skills of our team members, trust and support of our main investor and passion of our fans, who supported the development of Kingdom Come Deliverance through a Kickstarter campaign, helped us grow to an international level.

Then referring to this acquisition as a mutually beneficial step, Martin added,

We believe that backing by THQ Nordic and Koch Media will give us an extra push in our mission to bring exciting games to our customers and extend the frontiers of the gaming industry,” says Martin Fryvaldsky, CEO Warhorse Studios.

Kingdom Come Deliverance is an action RPG game available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The most unique aspect of this game is its focus on historical accuracy since the game is set in medieval Kingdom of Bohemia, its originality really brings in the best and that is what captures the audience.

Having said that the CEO of THQ Nordic AB, Lars Wingefors, also shared his remarks regarding this acquisition and said,

So what we can conjure up from all of this is that this acquisition is at a perfect time and the conditions are mutually beneficial for THQ has both the resources, financial and physical. So they can utilize the intellectual resources of Warehouse Studio to reap better benefits and give the gamers something new.
