Sad as it may seem, you have you have until March 11 to play Blacklight Retribution for free because following that the game servers will be shut down for good. Blacklight Retribution rolled out all the way back in 2012 and after so many years, the developers, Zombie Studios closed the game in 2015 but fortunate as it may seem the publishers of the game, Hardsuit Labs were generous enough to keep the game afloat. However, now the official announcement has been made and we will be saying goodbye to this fun giving, futuristic, free multiplayer FPS game, one last time.

The news of these servers shut down confirmation came through a Reddit post, where along servers shutdown date, it was also revealed that all items in the store will also now be available for free. Thanking the fans for their continuous support, the devs have added the reason they decided to put an end to this game was the fact that they need every one of their resources on deck, for future projects. Hardsuit Labs have been engaged in some very interesting projects and for that, they require a complete focus on the development of those projects. Which means they need every team and leader they can gather from their studio. Also adding the fact that Blacklight Retribution has had a good run and as all good things must come to an end so shall this.

Why is this happening? The reality is Hardsuit Labs has been engaged for some time now in some very interesting projects that require the full focus of the development teams and leadership. The studio capacity and resources are and have been entirely engaged with these projects and will be for the foreseeable future. As such, we officially will no longer be patching, updating, or doing technical support for Blacklight Retribution. Account migration will officially shut down as of today, as will the official support site.

With that being said, Hardsuit will no longer be adding any kind of support, which includes, patching, updating and no more technical support for Blacklight Retribution. Moreover, account migration is now officially over along with the official support site. Sad as it may seem, you still have a little time to consolidate yourself if you think you will miss Blacklight Retribution before its servers finally shut down.

I have a lot of love for Movies especially science fiction however nothing beats the fun of sitting behind a screen and playing some hard core FPS games. Apart from them i am a major lover of Assassins Creed titles especially Brotherhood, The Witcher and God Of War. Huge fan of animation director Hayo Mayazaki.
