Xbox One and PS4 are two of the most high powered present gen consoles, however, we are aware that both of these consoles have reached their end cycle and now the next-gen consoles are officially in the works. Be that as it may, you may already be aware of the fact that recently AMD held its 2019’s CES press conference and a lot of news some big and some small got touched but the biggest one came later on when Xbox head Phill Spencer took to the stage and while praising the AMD CEO he gave confirmation to the partnership between the two companies. All of which translated into the fact that the next gen Xbox will now be powered by AMD.

“As a company, we look at the opportunity in gaming and one of the things I want to say is when we think who our partners are, we think about great companies that do great work, but also do it in the right way. You’re somebody that I respected a ton in this industry and I’ve seen the way you’ve led AMD, and I think having a partner like AMD that works so collaboratively with us on our future technology, but also as a cultural level I think fits so well, it’s awesome to have you as a partner.

Then talking about the partnership between Microsoft and AMD, he added that the next gen Xbox consoles will now be powered by AMD.

As we look forward to future platforms that we’re building and work that we’re doing, the partnership and the innovations that we’ve seen in the past have led to what we’ve been able to do today, I think they’re going to be critically important to our future endeavors. I’m really looking forward to showing those to people more in the future.”

Now with that put into context, there already have been rumors for quite some time regarding the nextgen Xbox to be powered by AMD tech. Now though with this official confirmation, such rumors have finally turned true. Talking about rumors, the next question is, when will the next gen Xbox roll out. Well, there has been no official work on its release date but some rumors seem to claim it to roll out sometime in 2020 and it is being referred to as Xbox Scarlett.
