I have a lot of love for Movies especially science fiction however nothing beats the fun of sitting behind a screen and playing some hard core FPS games. Apart from them i am a major lover of Assassins Creed titles especially Brotherhood, The Witcher and God Of War. Huge fan of animation director Hayo Mayazaki.
God of War is one of the most recognized names out there, no doubt about that. Its success is something that requires a little reference. As you may know that God of War has won this year’s Game of The Year Title along with many other awards. That should be enough to tell how amazing that game actually is. Having said that would you not want to know the favorite game of the God of War director?
Well, not many have been able to pour out this secret by Cory Barlog, however, PlayStation magazine has had a successful attempt. In its 150th issue, Cory Barlog has revealed his most loved game on PlayStation to be Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid. Which really is a surprise in one manner and predictable in another manner.
As if there could be a game that would be amazing enough to fill the heart of God of War director, Metal Gear Solid would definitely be among them and now it has been confirmed. Having said Barlog did say that choosing one game as an all-time favorite game would be an injustice but if he had to go with one would go with Metal Gear Solid.
Moreover, he added that the story as well as the mechanics of Metal Gear and above all the complete presentation was beyond any doubt remarkable.
Wow, this is a really hard question. Picking just one game above all is nearly impossible for me, but if I had to, it would be Metal Gear Solid. I remember being completely blown away with the story, the mechanics and the overall presentation on my first playthrough.
Having said that he also mentioned other games which have left a huge impact on him that include, Ico, Shadow Of The Colossus and The Last Guardian as well as The Uncharted series which he added were really inspirational for him. Lastly, Barlog said that if there is a game that actually changed the way he saw video games, it would be The Resident Evil series.
Resident Evil 4 truly changed the way I look at making games.
I would say that Fumito Ueda’s games (Ico, Shadow Of The Colossus, The Last Guardian) had a gut-punch of an emotional impact on me. Storytelling in its purest form that connects to all of us as humans.
The Uncharted series really pushed me as a developer. They managed to raise the bar with every single release and produce an action-packed thrill ride starring characters I wanted to hang out with, and mechanics I can easily pick up and play.
With all that said, one can see the reason behind God of War being the director Cory Barlog’s favorite.
