Well, for the fans of Darksiders, the release of Darksiders 3 is a sigh of relief. Finally, after a long wait, the game has made it to PC and consoles. However, the game has had some mixed reviews, but perhaps you would be happy to know that we have a few Darksiders 3 fixes up our sleeves.

Back when the Darksiders 3 release date was leaked on Microsoft store, the excitement was pretty high. It was also high when the game recently rolled out, but these apparent bugs do not seem to help anyone.

So, to make it all easy for you, we have compiled below some of the issues, and fixes to them, faced in Darksiders 3. So that you may not lose interest in this game, just yet.

Darksiders 3 Fixes

Crash Fix

If you are a PC user then there is a probability that you might have been facing the crash on startup issue. Here are a few things, you can do that might help you fix it.

You should not be using any third-party monitoring software, such as MSI Afterburner because they can cause game crashes.
If GPU is overclocked, try to run it in stock clock speed.
Disable or add an exception to the anti-virus software.
Install the following:

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x64)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x64)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x64)

Disabling Motion Blur

As much as one may enjoy the motion blur feature, we all get fed up of it. Unfortunately, there is no option to disable it. What you need to do is find the .ini text file from the game installation folder.
Or you can follow this extension: (program86x/steam/steamapps/common/Darksiders3). Once you reach the Darksiders 3 folders, look for DS3.ini or darksiders3.ini file names. Open either one you find and scroll down till you are at the graphics-related part.
There make the following changes,

should be changed to:

Then save the settings. However, if that does not work, try going to the following extension: AppData\Local\Darksiders3\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Scalability.ini and add the following variable.

[PostProcessQuality@3] r.MotionBlurQuality=0

Extremely Blurry View Bug Fix

If you have been randomly facing the blurry view, worry not, a fix will be introduced in the upcoming update. In the meanwhile, if you face it, try restarting the game.

Black Screen Fix

If you are getting a black screen with no sound do the following.

Set your game’s resolution to your monitor’s native resolution.

If that does not work, use this quick access; %AppData%\Local\Darksiders3\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor”. A GameUserSettings.ini window will open, now locate the following options.

Set the set “ResolutionSizeX” to 1920 and “ResolutionSizeY” to 1080. However, in most cases, the reason for a black screen is the outdated GPU drivers.

Launching Fix

In case of no response at launch issue, you need to set DATA EXECUTION PREVENTION to default. Go to control panel/windows properties/settings/Performance tab/Data Execution Prevention; Turn it on.

Low FPS or Stuttering Fix

There have been numerous reports regarding Low FPS and stuttering faced in Darksiders 3. You can do the following.

Make sure you are using the latest GPU drivers.

If the problem still persists, go to the GPU control panel and in the game custom game settings do the following.
Set the Vertical Sync to “Fast”.
Texture Filtering to “High Performance”.
Power Management Mode to “Adaptive”.

These are some of the solutions to some of the issues faced in Darksiders 3. Hopefully, the devs will be addressing these issues soon enough.

I have a lot of love for Movies especially science fiction however nothing beats the fun of sitting behind a screen and playing some hard core FPS games. Apart from them i am a major lover of Assassins Creed titles especially Brotherhood, The Witcher and God Of War. Huge fan of animation director Hayo Mayazaki.
