It seems to be that for the month of October, Call of Duty Black Ops 4 sales has topped Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 sale. For those who are reporting this, they might be statistically correct but they seem to have ignored the release gap between the two.

Black Ops 4 rolled out on 26th October 2018 while Red Dead Redemption 2 on 12th October 2018. So there is an about 2 weeks ahead time CoD has had. Having said that it still is exciting to know that Black Ops 4 sales have made over 4.2 million for the month of October while Red Dead Redemption 2 sales have stood out with 4 million. Both of which in terms of digital sales.

These numbers have been recently made available by Superdata firm.

However, considering the release gap, Superdata has added that RD2 is to set a new record for digital consoles sales by the quarter of this holiday season. Moreover, the firm has also made a note that only two thirds about 67% have made it on PS4.

With all that said, there is no doubt that Red Dead Redemption 2 and Black Ops 4 both are one of the biggest titles which have finally rolled out. And while it has been over more than one month for both titles, there is still a lot to be seen, in terms of success.

It is to be noted that RD2 in its opening week, left one of the biggest entertainments Avengers Infinity War sales in the dust as well. However, that does not entirely mean that Black Ops 4 sales have not been able to set records. In just three days of its release, it was able to deliver a staggering $500 million.

Following which Activision acknowledged the fact that it has reset Activision’s history in terms of opening week sales. So keeping all that into context, while it would be a little too early, one can be sure that both of these game are worth a comparison when it comes to the counting of success.
