It has been well over a year since Destiny 2 was launched and while it may appear as if this title is doing all right, the reality is that it isn’t. At least according to Bungie and this is not the first time we are hearing of this. According to the publisher Activision, Destiny 2 Sales have not met the company’s expectations.

In the Activision’s Q2 2018 investor call, Destiny 2 was intentionally left out and now with this statement by Activision, it seems to reason that this title has been struggling ever since it launched.

In a statement made by the Activision’s Cheif Operating Officer Coddy Johnson during a recent earnings call, it was said that Destiny 2 has not seen the numbers of players, they have been expecting it to be.

The company said,

“Some of our other franchises like Destiny are not performing as well as we’d like.”

However, not hard data has been provided regarding Destiny 2 Sales. Having said that it’s not only Destiny 2, even the much anticipated Forsaken expansion does not seem to make a big difference. Johnson said that even though Forsaken expansion is a high-quality expansion and a lot of expectations were set for it. Unfortunately, those expectations have not been met.

Coddy Johnson said

‘While forsaken is a high-quality expansion with strong engagement and new modes of play, it did not achieve our commercial expectations.’

So putting all that into context, we will have to see how both Bungie and Activision will tackle this situation with Destiny 2 Sales. They will certainly have to make quite a lot of changes, especially based on community feedback.

Destiny 2 is available across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

I have a lot of love for Movies especially science fiction however nothing beats the fun of sitting behind a screen and playing some hard core FPS games. Apart from them i am a major lover of Assassins Creed titles especially Brotherhood, The Witcher and God Of War. Huge fan of animation director Hayo Mayazaki.
