I have a lot of love for Movies especially science fiction however nothing beats the fun of sitting behind a screen and playing some hard core FPS games. Apart from them i am a major lover of Assassins Creed titles especially Brotherhood, The Witcher and God Of War. Huge fan of animation director Hayo Mayazaki.
Activision Blizzard was caught in the tides of its audience at the Blizzcon, the kind of tide which they have never experienced before. They weren’t even expecting that kind of response from the attendees over the of Diablo Immortal. And perhaps in an attempt to calm that very air, Blizzard has confirmed Diablo 4.
As you may know that the announcement of Diablo Immortal was catastrophic in its nature and fans were not happy at all with it. Diablo Immortal is a cash grab mobile game, available on iOS and Andriod. However, Blizzard in an attempt to settle things down among fans has given confirmation to other Diablo titles in development.
In an interview with Polygon, Activision Blizzard gave confirmation to many of Diablo projects in development. And now, of course, one of the projects is Diablo 4, a game which has been teasing its fans for quite some time now. It is pretty awkward in a way that Blizzard had to give confirmation about it in order to settle the fans.
Adham and Elggren of Blizzard announced that they also have other unannounced Diablo projects besides Immortal, one of which is Diablo which has now been confirmed.
we have said that we have multiple Diablo teams working on multiple Diablo projects and that remains true, even after releasing [Diablo 3 for Nintendo] Switch and announcing Diablo Immortal. We still have multiple Diablo teams working on multiple unannounced Diablo projects. Diablo is a tentpole franchise for [Blizzard]. And it always will be. We love it. We hope our fans understand what we’re saying when we say that.
Having said that honestly, fans have the right to be angry in a way. For months the company has been teasing “Big Diablo News” for months. With so many fans spending hundreds of dollars just so they could reach the Blizzcon event and in the end what the find, after sitting through the entire conference is a mobile app, Diablo Immortal.
So it is to say that even big companies can make wrong assumptions on what the audience wants. What are your thoughts over all of this, also considering the fact that Diablo 4 has now been confirmed.
