An accountant by profession, but my knack for Movies and Gaming has never left the soul. Consider myself to be an old soul when it comes to playing games.I have a huge knack for fast cars and that is why i love Forza and NFS series. However i like to take out my frustration by killing zombies in Dying Light. A die heart fan of Call of Duty franchise. Gladiator & The Shawshank Redemption are eternal love and these are just the tip of the iceberg.
This is now officially a thing. Whenever there is a new Assassin’s Creed coming out, fans around the world get more and more restless and start to expect great things form the game. Ubisoft has been in luck, their every release until now has fulfilled their fans expectations and had not disappointed them in any way. In the new episode of “behind the Odyssey” lots of topics have come under discussion including Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Naval Combat, how to Customise the ship, crew recruitment, exploration and more.
This is the third episode of “Behind The Odyssey” and in this session lead programmer Pierre-Luc Vachon, technical lead James Carnahan, game designer Charles Benoit, and game director Scot Phillips explained about all these points in a very understandable manner.
All newly released Assassin’s Creed games, now provide its players with a complete experience of land and ocean alike. This has now been taken a notch up in the new Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. In the words of Pierre himself, the map of the game is “huge” so to compensate that amount of land there is a seamless sea to move around. The exploration in the game is off the hook.
With all this comes extensive detailing and that is what the developers have done and talked about. The sea is heavily detailed, with the oceanic wildlife and different sizes of waves as per the locations requirement.
Charles further in the video explained that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Naval Combat is now “more fast pace and close range”. This is because there are no cannons and mortars to destroy them form far, just javelins, and arrows that make the experience more realistic and indulging.
James Carnahan added more, by saying that the mobility of the ship has increased a lot. If a villain ship is about to ram, because of the improved high speeds now you can move you’re ship away from the range, in just a few seconds and avoid the collision. On the other hand, raming and cleaving by the player and his ship will help improve the overall condition of the ship itself and will make the players ship much stronger, bigger and better. With new rewards, ship weapons can be upgraded, and structural reinforcements can be done.
Recruiting new crew or the lieutenants will also give you more abilities and special upgrades. Better the recruit, better and beneficial the upgrades. These lieutenants can be hired from the world. You can hire the simple available ones or can hunt down the special ones with different perks and abilities.
With that said, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Naval Combat seems to have improved very much with lots of new and interesting add-ons. If you want to know about stealth in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey click here. Check out the full video down below and let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
