A French gaming site JeuxVideoLive, posted an image of a keychain with a Spartan helmet, and the name of the new game, adding fuel to the pyre of speculation and rumors which have been burning for a while. I am talking about a new installment in the Ubisoft’s well-famed game series Assassins Creed. A few hours after this post, Assassins Creed on its official Twitter account confirmed the rumors about the new entry by posting a short video, Assassins Creed Odyssey is the name of the game.

In this very small teaser, a Spartan warrior is seen kicking another warrior off a cliff. After this, the video ends at the title card with the games name and “See YOU AT E3” tease. Well, this is something that is going to fire up a lot of hype but for now, this is it. Hopefully, we will be seeing more about the new game very soon at Ubisoft’s E3 Showcase on June 11.

That said, the last sequel to this amazing franchise was Assassins Creed Orings which was set in Egypt, time span being near the end of the Ptolemaic period. The story recounts the secret fictional history of real-world events.

Those who have played the origins they would know that based on the ending, it was pretty much obvious that the next Assassins Creed sequel would be set in Greece. There have been a lot of speculations since the release of Origins, on where will the next Assassins Creed be set in.

Still, at the moment, it would be too early to say anything more other than the fact that Assassins Creed Odyssey is legit and we can certainly expect more about it at E3.

Are you an Assassins Creed fan? What are your thoughts about the game? Let us know in the comments below.
