The current Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima will be retiring in June and with his retirement, Shuntaro Furukawa will become the New Nintendo President.

Currently, Shuntaro Furukawa is a board member of Nintendo and The Pokemon Company. When he becomes the New Nintendo President, he will be the sixth person to take over in 128 years.

Considering he will be 46 years of age when he would be appointed as the new president of Nintendo, is fairly a young age.

Kimishima made this decision to make sure that his successor is able to connect with the company’s customers.

Furukawa will be taking over the company in a much better state. Considering, the fact that Nintendo Switch is a monster when it comes to sales. Selling over 17.79 million units since its launch, is a remarkable achievement.

Now with Furukawa becoming the New Nintendo President, it would be a pitch-perfect time. Still, we will have to see what it means for the company.
